Manitoba invites 347 skilled workers and international graduates in new EOI draw on September 12
The recent draw pushes 2019 total to over 6,000
A new expression of interest (EOI) held on September 12 by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 347 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence to skilled foreign workers and international graduates.
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program or commonly known as MPNP, has now issued over 700 invitations through its Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Skilled Worker Overseas and International Education Stream in less than a month.
The September 12 MPNP draw also brings the total number of invitations issued to 6,157 so far in 2019 through these three immigration pathways.
Of the 347 invitations issued, 45 went to candidates who had valid Express Entry IDs and job seeker validation codes.
The Express Entry system is Canada’s main source of skilled foreign workers, which manages the applications under Canada’s three Federal High Skilled economic-class immigration categories —the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Canadian Experience Class.
Eligible candidates enter the Express Entry pool and are issued a CRS score based on their age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French, among other factors.
The highest-ranked candidates are then invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence during regular draws from the pool.
- Skilled Worker in Manitoba
MPNP issued a total of 254 LAAs to candidates in the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Category.
The category is open to qualified temporary foreign workers and international student graduates who are currently working in the province and have been offered a permanent, full-time job with their Manitoba employer.
The lowest-scoring Skilled Worker in Manitoba candidate in this draw had an EOI score of 545.
The September 12 draw issued 53 LAAs to candidates in MPNP’s Skilled Worker Overseas Category, which allows the MPNP to nominate eligible immigration candidates living outside Canada who have an established connection to Manitoba such as the previous education or work experience in the province, support of family members or friends or an invitation under one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.
All candidates who received LAAs were invited directly through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative, which include overseas recruitment missions organized by the MPNP in association with Manitoba employers.
The lowest-ranked candidate in Skilled Worker Overseas Category invited in the September 12 draw had a score of 706.
- International Education Stream
Another 40 LAAs were issued through the MPNP’s International Education Stream in the September 12 draw. This stream gives pathways to permanent residence for eligible international graduates of province post-secondary institutions. There are three subcategories in this stream: Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway, and the Student Entrepreneur Pathway.
