Latest Manitoba PNP draw invited 180 skilled workers, international student graduates and Express Entry candidates to apply for provincial nomination
Province of Manitoba held its latest Expression of Interest (EOI) draw on November 7, inviting a total 180 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence under Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) allows the province to nominate foreign workers and international graduates of its post-secondary institutions for Canadian permanent residence through it’s Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Skilled Worker Overseas and International Education immigration pathways.
In order to be eligible for immigration to Manitoba under one of these categories, candidates are required to first create an EOI profile.
These EOI profiles are then given a score out of 1,000 based on various factors such as the candidate’s education, work experience, connections to Manitoba and proficiency in English or French, among other factors.
A set number of the highest-scoring candidates receive a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence through regular draws.
LAAs issued and points requirement details for each category of MPNP in the November 7 draw:
SKILLED WORKERS IN MANITOBA
- Number of Letters of Advice to Apply issued: 133
- Ranking score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 560
INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION STREAM
- Number of Letters of Advice to Apply issued: 23
SKILLED WORKERS OVERSEAS
- Number of Letters of Advice to Apply issued: 24 who were invited directly by the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative
- Ranking score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 719
Of the 180 invites issued in this draw, 23 went to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry ID and job seeker validation code.
Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination from Manitoba receive additional 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which effectively guaranteed them an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Express Entry draw.
Invited candidates now have 60 days to submit their complete application for provincial nomination to MPNP.
