Latest Express Entry draw issued 3,600 invitations to immigration candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence

In its latest federal Express Entry draw that took place on Wednesday, November 13, Canada invited 3600 new immigration candidates to apply for permanent residence.

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the lowest-ranked invited candidate was 472, which is a decrease of three points than the previous invitation round that was held on October 30 and had a cut-off score of 475.

As with the previous draws, a tie-break rule was used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in the November 13 draw as well. As a number of candidates have the same 472 score, only those who have created their profile before October 8, 2019 at 10:46:01 UTC received an invitation to apply (ITA).

The latest draw has brought the total number of invitations issued by IRCC to Express Entry candidates in 2019 to 75,300. This also put Canada 1,100 ahead of last year’s record-setting pace as of November 13.

The government of Canada has high immigration targets as per the Canada Multiyear Immigration Level Plan as the country is set to welcome 1.3 million new permanent residents between 2019 and 2021. A major proportion of these new admissions are projected to come through the Express Entry System. This plan was announced in October 2018, and since then the Express Entry Draws have witnessed a massive invitations splurge.

As of November 8, there were a total of 132,521 candidates in the Express Entry pool.

Express Entry candidates with low CRS scores can increase their points through a variety of options and the most valuable of which is to obtain a provincial nomination.

A provincial nomination awards candidates additional 600 points toward their CRS scores, which increases their chances to get an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Express Entry draw.

The candidates, who received invitations in the November 13 draw, now have 60 days to submit their complete application for Canadian permanent residence to IRCC.
