Alberta invites 478 Express Entry candidates with CRS scores as low as 302 in two Alberta Express Entry Stream draws
Details of two recent Alberta Express Entry Stream draws released
The Canadian province of Alberta has released the details of the two recent provincial nomination draws held on September 11 and September 18 through its Express Entry Stream on Thursday, 26 September.
A total of 478 Notifications of Interest (NOI) were issued to Express Entry candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores as low as 302 in one of these two draws held so far this month.
The September 11th draw issued a total of 339 NOIs, with the lowest-ranked candidate invited had the CRS score of 302 points.
While on September 18, 139 invitations issued to candidates with CRS score as low as 350.
Introduced in July, 2018, the Alberta Express Entry Stream allows the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) to search the federal Express Entry pool for immigration candidates who meet specified eligibility requirements or demonstrate strong ties to Alberta and invite them to apply for a provincial nomination.
To be considered for a nomination for Canadian permanent residence from Alberta through its Express Entry Stream, candidates need to be eligible for one of the three federal immigration programs managed by the Express Entry system – the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class and have an active profile in the Express Entry pool.
They must also have a CRS score of at least 300 points and be working in an occupation that “supports Alberta’s economic development and diversification priorities,” among other criteria.
While a job offer or previous work in Alberta is not mandatory in order to be eligible, the AINP gives priority to candidates with:
- a job offer and/or work experience in Alberta;
- a degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution; and/or
- a parent, child or sibling already living in the province
Express Entry candidates, who received a nomination from the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP), get an additional 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which effectively increase their chances to get an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Express Entry draw.
A total of 4,378 nomination certificates have been issued by AINP so far in 2019.
