374 Express Entry Candidates received invitations in latest Alberta Provincial Draw on September 25

Alberta has revealed the details of its latest Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) draw held on 25th September, in which it issued total 374 invitations to apply for provincial nomination to the candidates under its Express Entry aligned stream.

Express Entry candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement as low as 400 points received Notifications of Interest (NOIs) in this invitation round.

Though, the latest draw saw a significant increase in cut-off score as compared to the previous AINP invitation round, it is still quite lower than the latest Federal Express Entry cut-off score of 464.

The popular Express Entry stream of Alberta Provincial Nominee Program allows the AINP to search the federal Express Entry pool for candidates who meet the stream’s eligibility requirements and invite them to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.

The stream has developed as the best and easiest pathway to get permanent residency in Canada in last few months. It offers key pathway to obtain Canadian PR invitation for applicants with lower CRS scores as it accepts the candidates with the CRS score as low as just 300 to 400 points.

In order to be considered for a nomination through AINP’s Express Entry Stream, applicant must have a CRS score of at least 300 points and be working in an occupation that “supports Alberta’s economic development and diversification priorities,” among other criteria.

While a job offer or previous work in Alberta is not mandatory in order to be eligible, the AINP gives priority to candidates with:

  • a job offer and/or work experience in Alberta;
  • a degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution; and/or
  • a parent, child or sibling already living in the province

Express Entry candidates, who received a nomination from the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP), get an additional 600 points toward their CRS score, which effectively increase their chances to get an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Express Entry draw.

Alberta has launched total 26 draws so far this year and issued 6,088 NOIs to express entry candidates to apply for provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.
